Cavell wins national award

We’re celebrating after winning the Recruitment and Retention Award at the national Stars of Social Care Awards.

Deputy Manager Laura Panter was also runner-up in the Head of People category and carer Chipo Dakwa was highly commended for the New to Care award.

The event, which was hosted by ITV’s This Morning’s Josie Gibson at the Marriott Hotel, Regent’s Park in London, pays tribute to those who show dedication and commitment to supporting vulnerable people through social care.

Cavell Healthcare’s general manager Gordon Anderson said: “We’re really thrilled to have won this award – and very proud of our highly commended colleagues as well. At Cavell, we pride ourselves on being one big family and treating out clients like family too. Recruiting and retaining staff can be a challenge in our sector but one of the things that makes us different is our in-house training programme for staff which has proved very popular. We also look to provide our staff with rewarding career paths and to recognise them for the immense contribution they make to improving people’s lives and wellbeing.”

In November 2022 East Coast Community Healthcare (ECCH), the social enterprise which provides NHS health services in Norfolk and Waveney, bought Cavell Healthcare. Since then, the two organisations have been looking at ways to increasing Cavell’s use of technology and expand the number of services it offers to its clients.
