Best of British

Last year, we thought we couldn’t do any better when we were nominated for an incredible five Great British Carers awards. Carers Helen Twiddy and Sarah Cawdron were both recognised in the Home Care Worker of the Year category and Sarah won the Home Carer Of The Year of the year award for the Eastern Region, which is a fantastic achievement when you consider there is over 2,000 companies in our region. In addition, Rachel Chettleburgh was recognised as Registered Manager of the Year and our Managing Director, Gordon Anderson, was shortlisted for Outstanding Contribution to Social Care.

It would be an understatement therefore to say we are absolutely delighted to have recently found out that we have been shortlisted for an unprecedented 7 categories at the Great British Care Awards Regional Finals 2021. What is particularly wonderful about the nominations is that they recognise talent right across the business, from carers out on the road, to office support staff and management. We really feel that this is a reflection of the fantastic ethos the company has and our commitment not only to our clients but to our staff as well.

Our aim is to establish Cavell Healthcare not only as the care provider of choice for families whose loved ones require care, but also the employer of choice for domiciliary and domestic care provision. We know that the outstanding service for which Cavell Healthcare is recognised is down to our staff, so we work hard to ensure that our team know just how much they are appreciated.

Career development and training is a key element in achieving this, which is why we have our own in-house accredited trainer, Beverley, so all staff can benefit from both mandatory and supplementary training, which is easily accessible. In addition, we support staff in advancing their professional development with NVQs and a number of the team have recently completed NCQ’s in various aspects of Health & Social Care and Business Management.
